My first attempt at routing audio for both Famicom games (really it’s just Castlevania III, of which the Japanese version if fantastic because of the VRC6 sound-chip, by the way) and the PowerPak.
The two methods are wired differently, in part, because the wiring on the cartridges is different. The red wire is when I’m using my modified Gyromite adapter (which itself contains a resistor and capacitor). The resistor is for the PowerPak audio. Both go to pin 3, which is FDS audio in, thus mixing the sound through the NES audio pipeline.
